061320outdoordining

Lake Chatuge Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 25.

There’s no sweeter time to enjoy a delicious meal on a spacious patio than in the cool months of autumn. Those lower temperatures and pops of colorful fall foliage create the perfect atmosphere for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Here at Lake Chatuge, we have plenty of wonderful restaurants ideal for enjoying dinner under the stars, or lunch under the warm autumn sun. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites you won’t want to miss on your next Lake Chatuge adventure!

Dine Al Fresco at Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa

At Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa, you have two delicious options to dine under a Lake Chatuge sky. This sprawling resort property is home to two fantastic restaurants, each with spacious patios. On the main floor, Brasstown’s dining room offers impressive buffet dining spreads for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fill up your plate and sit on the dining room’s beautiful covered balcony, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the resort’s property and golf course. Down one level, Brassies offers a variety of delicious sandwiches, burgers and tasty brews, all in a casual, inviting atmosphere. Their beautiful patio, located at the ground level, not only offers views of the property and golf course, but also has a select number of firepits nearby, perfect for a cozy evening.

Raise Your Glass at Hiawassee Brew

One of the best spots to get one of the frostiest beers in town is Hiawassee Brew, Lake Chatuge’s only craft brewery. Located just a few miles from the lakefront, this locally owned spot serves up tacos from an onsite food truck, and a variety of housemade brews, and slings a few from nearby breweries as well. Wine aficionados will also love their selection of whites and reds, all sourced from local wineries like Crane Creek and Hightower Vineyards. Sit, sip and enjoy beautiful views as you listen to live music, or participate in one of their rotating activities, like music bingo.

Chow Down at Young Harris Wing House

“No frills, no fuss, just fried” is how Young Harris Wing House proudly describes itself. Located in Young Harris, this laid back restaurant was started by a group of foodies who want to share their passion for eatin’ good with everyone. Stop in and enjoy everything from wings dripping in bbq sauce, wraps stuffed with savory fixins, burgers and more. Young Harris Wing House offers ample outdoor seating and consistently updates its Facebook with fun videos to show you just what your tastebuds have been craving.

Enjoy Mountainside Views at Trouble Tap Bar and Grill

Looking for that perfect view of sweeping fall foliage? Pull up a chair at Trouble Tap Bar and Grill! Located in Young Harris, Trouble Tap offers a regular rotation of delicious specials, cocktails and more, proudly boasting a from-scratch dining experience that’s sure to satisfy, while its spacious patio space offers picturesque mountainside views. Relax, unwind and pair tranquil fall weather with your new favorite dish, or venture inside, where Trouble Tap has billiards, games and, on select nights, karaoke, live music and a groovy dance floor.

Soak in our Sparkling Waterfront at Marina Station

While our mountainside views shouldn’t be missed, one of the best spots to enjoy a tasty meal is right along glittering Lake Chatuge, the crown jewel of our charming community. At Marina Station, four garage-style doors open to create a large, open deck that sits right along our marina and boat docks, offering unparalleled views of either the bustling activity or calming stillness and natural beauty of Lake Chatuge. Marina Station’s menu is centered around delectable comfort foods, with menu items ranging from wings to BLTs. Whether you get here by boat or on wheels, you’re sure to have a relaxing dining experience at this locally loved spot.

Discover Downtown Charm at Tilted Cafe

At Tilted Cafe, you can enjoy delicious dishes and cocktails, all with a charming overlook of Hiawassee’s Main Street. This locally owned restaurant, which recently celebrated its first year of open doors, is known for the creative spin they put on their fantastic menu items. From specialty iced lattes and cocktails of the day to a rotation of daily specials and Sunday brunch offerings, you’re sure to find your new favorite dish as you dine patio style at Tilted Cafe.
