Habersham Success Academy reported an enrollment of 56 white students for the 2024-25 school year, a 30.2% increase from the prior year, based on data from the Georgia Department of Education.
Records show that the academy had a total of 78 students for 2024-25, with white students accounting for 72% of enrolled students, positioning them as the school’s largest demographic group.
The academy operates within the Habersham County School District, which is centrally administered in Clarkesville.
Out of the 14 schools within the district, Habersham Central High School posted the highest count of white students in the 2024-25 period, enrolling 831 individuals.
Public school enrollment in Georgia topped 1.7 million students, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 summary. Elementary students represented the largest portion, 787,206 (45.9%), followed by 388,733 middle schoolers (22.7%) and 539,092 high schoolers (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism continues to impact Georgia schools following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more days during 2024 per Georgia Department of Education findings. In reaction, GaDOE initiated a statewide effort that includes a real-time attendance dashboard, public outreach, and support for districts with high absentee rates to improve regular attendance.
During 2025, a Georgia legislative update changed school attendance laws to bar expulsion solely for absenteeism. The legislative revision adds new documentation standards and aligns with programs supporting diploma attainment through alternative methods.
As of 2026, Georgia recorded an average student-to-teacher ratio of about 14:1, below the national average of 15:1.
