The Chamber's 75th Anniversary Annual Awards Banquet took place on February 21 at The Station of Hartwell, marking a significant milestone for the organization. Sponsored by Oglethorpe Power, the event celebrated the achievements of local businesses and individuals.
Scott and Susanne Barfield hosted over 120 attendees at their venue, which was transformed by Greg Hall into an elegant setting. The awards featured diamond-shaped trophies from Karew Sports and Imprinting.
Wyndee McKinnon opened the event with remarks on the past year, followed by an invocation from Jerry McHan. After dinner, Executive Director Amanda Brown highlighted the Chamber's resilience: “In the world of anniversaries, 75 years is known as the diamond anniversary,” she said. “And as they say, pressure makes diamonds.”
Brown introduced the 2025 Board of Directors and recognized outgoing directors Kevin McCraney, Pat Goran, Justin Price, and Larry Torrence. She also presented a gift to Wyndee McKinnon for her leadership.
