Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) has expressed his support for Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), who was reelected as Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress. In a statement released today, Carter highlighted Johnson's qualifications and leadership qualities.
"I was proud to vote in support of Speaker Mike Johnson on the House floor," Carter stated. He emphasized that Johnson is well-suited to lead their conference, especially with the mandate given by President-elect Trump to bring change to Washington.
Carter described Johnson as "a man of faith, strong moral character, and is a constitutional law expert." He expressed optimism about working under Johnson's leadership on various issues including securing the southern border, enhancing American energy dominance, protecting cities, combating fentanyl, and pursuing initiatives aligned with making America great again.
