Georgia State Representative Will Wade extended his congratulations to Donald J. Trump and JD Vance on their electoral success, emphasizing a return to policies centered on "common sense" and "freedom." Wade's remarks were made in a post dated November 8 on the social media platform X.

"Congratulations to Donald J. Trump & JD Vance on their decisive victory," said Wade. "Let's get back to common sense, freedom focused policy and recognition to all hard working Americans and policies that empower families!"

According to the Associated Press, Trump has been elected as the 47th president of the United States, marking a political comeback after his defeat four years prior. He achieved the requisite 270 electoral votes with victories in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania—states that had previously supported President Joe Biden in 2020. Trump's Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, conceded the race through a phone call. Additionally, Biden reached out to Trump to offer congratulations and begin the transition process.

CBS News reported that Trump secured Georgia's 16 electoral votes. The state had been considered a battleground after voting for Biden in 2020—the first Democratic win there since 1992. Trump's victory followed his narrow loss by fewer than 12,000 votes in the previous election, which led him to attempt influencing state officials to alter the outcome. Both Trump and Harris campaigned heavily in Georgia ahead of this election, especially following Hurricane Helene's impact on parts of the state.

Representative Wade has an extensive background in education administration, having served as Chairman of the Dawson County Board of Education for 15 years. Under his leadership, Dawson County became one of Georgia's pioneering system-wide charter school systems. In his initial term at the Georgia State House, Wade advocated for school choice legislation, law enforcement pay raises, tax reductions, and anti-human trafficking initiatives. He represents Georgia’s 9th State House District with a focus on education and public safety.
