Fewer students enrolled in Franklin County's only school district in 2022-23 school year

The only school district in Franklin County faced declining enrollment in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

There were 3,497 students in the halls of Franklin County School District, 0.1% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Franklin County was steady compared to the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were male, and 50% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 72% of the Franklin County School District's total enrollment.

Franklin County School District has a main office in Carnesville and is the only school district within Franklin County.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
