Georgia State Representative Will Wade expressed doubts about whether today's young men could "storm the beaches of Normandy like their grandfathers," suggesting that a return to traditional "old-fashioned American values" might change this. Wade made his statement in a June 16 post on X.

"If our freedom was on the line, could our current generation of young men storm the beaches of Normandy as our grandfathers did," said Wade. "I'm not so sure, but we can change that by turning back to our old fashioned American values."

In an op-ed in the Daily Caller, Wade discussed the challenges facing American values today, noting a perceived shift from past generations when patriotism, faith, and a sense of duty were more prominent. He highlighted concerns about societal changes that he believes have diminished these traditional values, attributing this shift partly to influences from progressive ideologies over the years. Despite these challenges, Wade said he is optimistic about nurturing future generations to uphold core American principles with support from leaders across various sectors.

"We must be great fathers and teach the next generation of boys what it means to be a man. We must teach our children to work hard and always fight for what is right. And we must pass the American values and ideals that we learned from the generations before us down to those after us. Our future depends on it," said Wade in his op-ed.

Representative Will Wade served as Chairman of the Dawson County Board of Education for 15 years, leading the county to become one of Georgia's first system-wide charter school systems. In his first term in the Georgia State House, Wade supported legislation on school choice, law enforcement pay raises, tax cuts, and anti-human trafficking measures. He represents Georgia’s 9th State House District and has focused on education and public safety.
