Dawson County High School had the highest enrollment among Dawson County schools, welcoming 769 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were male, and 50% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 82% of the Dawson County High School total enrollment.

Among the seven schools in Dawson County, Dawson County Junior High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 627 students, while Robinson Elementary School welcomed 594 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Dawson County High School is part of Dawson County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Dawson County, with its main office in Dawsonville.

In the previous school year, Dawson County High School also had the highest number of students among Dawson County schools.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, over 1.6 million students were enrolled in Georgia's public schools during the 2021-22 school year. The state boasted a diverse and closely distributed student body across grade levels, with roughly 44% of the students in elementary, 24.5% in middle school, and 31.5% in high schools.

The state also registered an ethnically diverse student body, with 34.4% of the students identified as white, 36.5% as Black, 17.1% as Hispanic, and 4.5% as Asian.
