Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter of Georgia has successfully secured $2.5 million for roadway and logistical improvements at Pierce County Industrial Park. The funding comes as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. According to Carter, this financial support will be used for the construction of a new entrance to the industrial park, which is facing a strain on its existing infrastructure due to upcoming installations and a surge in demand caused by population and economic growth.

"I’m proud to represent a district that is attracting new businesses and residents daily. As the City of Blackshear continues to grow, it’s critical that we update our infrastructure to meet this demand. That’s why I supported the funding for a new entrance at Pierce County Industrial Park, and I am excited for this project to be completed," stated Rep. Carter.

The initiative has received praise from Mayor Keith Brooks, who expressed gratitude for Carter's ongoing support. Mayor Brooks highlighted the significance of the funding in attracting new industries to Blackshear. "We are grateful for the continued support Congressman Carter provides the City of Blackshear. This funding will be instrumental in recruiting new industries to Blackshear," Mayor Brooks emphasized.

The investment in roadway improvements at Pierce County Industrial Park is expected to not only address the current infrastructure challenges but also facilitate the region's economic development by accommodating the growing needs of businesses and residents.
