The Heart and Soul Gala Committee is proud to announce that Crowe Marine has signed up as a sponsor of the 2023 Gala benefitting St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital.
Family is how Crowe Marine started. C.D. Crowe sold his first boat outside his existing sign shop in East Point, Ga., in 1959. In 1964, Bill Crowe joined his father in the family’s new boat dealership and in 1996, Bill and his son, Brian, moved Crowe Marine from East Point to Lake Oconee. Crowe Marine has been proud to call Lake Oconee home ever since. In its 63 years in business, Crowe Marine has watched families grow, having the privilege to be part of their lives as they celebrate life on the water.
The Crowe family has seen and experienced the benefits of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Lake Oconee since the beginning. In 2013, Bill was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. “St. Mary’s did such a great job of making sure he was cared for and comfortable during his time there,” Brian stated. “And the fact that he was able to be here, so close to home, meant a lot to us.” The hospital was also there for the family in 2021 when Brian’s mother, Jewel Crowe, passed away from COVID-19.
The Crowe family appreciates St. Mary’s, not just for all the major medical moments but the minor ones as well. Like when Brian’s son, Jackson, spent Christmas Eve in the emergency department due to a viral infection, or when his daughter, Courtney, fractured her foot.
“We just went right up the road,” Brian says, “And I know we aren’t the only ones that have things like that happen! We’ve always said that our customers are part of the family, so to know that we all have that care not only nearby, but that it’s quality care, it makes us feel good.”
