Banks County 4-H is recruiting for an AmeriCorps position!

Banks County 4-H is recruiting for an AmeriCorps position! This is not a traditional employment position. It is a temporary, national service position that allows members to gain professional experience and serve their communities.  Service members serve about 40 hours/week, including some evenings and weekends. They work directly with 4-H youth, helping to shape the next generation of leaders. They earn a monthly living stipend and an education award that can help the member (or in some cases a child or grandchild) pay for college! We are looking to fill this role ASAP, so please contact Susie Burton Medina at susie.burton@uga.edu or 706-677-6230 if interested!

MORE DETAILS:

Service members can expect to serve about 40hours/week, and to attend 4-H events on evenings and weekends.  This position requires a commitment through August 31, 2023.

Benefits of serving with AmeriCorps include:

• Gaining professional experiences and a network within UGA Extension, Georgia 4-H, and the field of education

• A monthly living stipend of $1709

• FREE health insurance

• An education award of $6,495 after completing required service hours

• Childcare assistance (income-based eligibility)

• Student loan forbearance

• Working with 4-H youth is FUN!

This position would be fantastic for a college student (with the right schedule) or a recent graduate looking for professional experience. It would also be great for a retired teacher or other retiree, or anyone who wants to serve their community (for service members age 55+, the education award can be transferred to a child or grandchild!).

Anyone interested can contact me at susie.burton@uga.edu or 706-677-6230.
