The Mayor and Council of the City of Cleveland announce the intent to increase the 2022 property taxes by 8.22% (percent) over the rollback millage rate. The rate increase is to support the growing expenses for the public safety, public works, and administration.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Cleveland Community Center/Police Department, 342 Campbell Street, Cleveland, GA on August 15, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. and on August 23, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The 2022 millage rate will be voted on at 6:45 p.m. on August 23, 2022.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.472 mills, an increase of .416 mills over the rollback rate. Without this proposed tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.056 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $24.963.
