DAWSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Chamber Welcomes 3 Business Leaders to the Board of Directors in 2022

Dawson County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 4. 

The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome three new Board of Directors in 2022.

Joan Lee earned her Master of Education from North Georgia College & State University in 1995. She taught Business Administrative Technology and Accounting at Lanier Technical College for over twenty years where she also served as Division Chair for Business & Computer Sciences. She was recognized as a 2011 Master Teacher and continues to teach computer workshops as a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Trainer. Lee assumed the role of Director of Continuing Education in the Economic Development Division in 2015 where she manages short-term training provided by Lanier Technical College throughout their seven-county service area.

 

Amy Palmer is the Outreach Coordinator for The Place of Dawson. She loves working for a non-profit and helping people live with purpose.  She is a Rotarian and Board Member of the Dawson County Rotary Club. Amy is also a member of the SHINE BNI Chapter. Amy earned a Bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University in Public and Social Services and minored in Human Services. She moved to Dawson County 19 years and loves her community. Amy and her husband Michael have a teenage son named Cole and a hyperactive dog named Marshall. She and her family attend and volunteer at Local Church Dawson along with being very active in Scouting.   She enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, and reading.

 

Kris Elliott is the Banking Center Manager with Bank OZK.  Over his 14 year career he has helped his clients achieve the financial success they desire, while focusing on both personal and business relationships.  His belief is that clients and his team deserve the best he can offer every day.  He started his banking career as a part-time teller, with BB&T where he was promoted to Market Leader before transitioning to Bank OZK.  Kris grew up in Odessa, Texas before moving to North Georgia in 1998 with the military.  He served as an Airborne Infantryman in the Army which led him to Dahlonega, GA where he met Jennifer, his wife at the University of North Georgia. They now have been blessed with a 13 year old daughter and 6 year old son. In his free time, he loves to golf, wake surf on Lake Lanier, root for the Dawgs, and vacation in Disney. His family loves to travel as much as time will allow.

 

“We are thrilled to have Joan, Amy and Kris join the Board of Directors,” Dawson County Chamber President Mandy Power said.  “Their experience and background will compliment the experience we already have on our high performing board.
