Riverside Military Academy issued the following announcement on Nov. 16.
The RMA cross country team completed an outstanding season last week.
The RMA cross country team completed an outstanding season last week running in the state meet in Carrollton, GA. Hamdy Ismail finished 20th out of 206 runners with a time of 18:06. Hamdy improved 76 positions from his last state tournament meet! Robert Baum also had a strong showing by placing 44th. RMA finished 13th out of 30 teams. To put this in perspective, at a minimum it is equivalent to reaching the 2nd round of the state playoffs in traditional team sports. The boys improved upon their region performance finishing with the 2nd best time of all our region opponents. Only Banks county had a higher finish.
