Habersham County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 3.
The Habersham County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named North Georgia Technical College as November Member of the Month.
NGTC has been a tremendous supporter of the Chamber of Commerce and its programs for many years. The college serves as hosts for the Economic Development meetings and events, Pre- and Post Legislative Sessions, Chamber luncheons and networking events. They serve as sponsors for Leadership/Youth Leadership Habersham and the Habersham Young Professionals Group. They are actively involved in other Chamber programs including the S.O.A.R Professional Women’s’ Group, Leadership Habersham and the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
Adding to their commitment of local support, NGTC will soon be undergoing a $5.6 renovation to their gymnasium. The building will become the Dr. Mark A. Ivester Center for Living and Learning (“The Mark”) in memory of the former president. This facility will serve as a wellness and activities center for students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members.
Chamber board members and volunteers joined NGTC President John Wilkinson and the college Leadership Team with the presentation of the sign and certificate at their Clarkesville campus.
