HABERSHAM COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Congratulations to our October Member of the Month: NewsTalk 94.3FM WCHM!!

Handshake(1000)

Habersham County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.

The "Voice of Habersham" since 2010, WCHM has been heavily involved in promoting the Chamber's work in the community. They have hosted and co-hosted Business After Hours events, participated in the Leadership Habersham program as well as served as a sponsor for the program. WCHM hosts the "Taking Care of Business" radio show - a weekly program featuring Chamber members. They promote not only the Chamber's news and events, but also all other events happening throughout the county.

At the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020, WCHM truly became a lifeline for our area. They started We Care HabershaM, a program that raised money to support local families, and they also partnered with a neighboring business to provide PPO for front line workers and emergency responders.

In addition to their role in spreading goodwill and improving the quality of life for our residents, they regularly partner with local governments and elected officials to provide up-to-date election coverage, foster access to health information and share important community announcements. They also promote economic growth through their advertisers and on-air guests.

Chamber board members and volunteers joined Owner Jeff Batten, Station Manager Hazel Cording and staff with the presentation of the sign and certificate.

WCHM 94.3FM is located at 683 Grant Street in Clarkesville.
