Lumpkin County issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
Some county roads are experiencing flash flooding and have been closed. Wahoo Creek Road, Holly Lane near Hickory Nut Trail, Walnut Valley, and Willow Pond near the end of Hwy. 19 are all temporarily closed. Jeff Sullens road is passable, but proceed with caution. For your safety, do not drive past Road Closed signs, and remember, “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”.
