County of Habersham issued the following announcement on July 20.
On Monday, July 19, The Habersham County Board of Commissioners voted 4-0 in an open meeting to extend an offer for the position of county clerk to Deputy Clerk Brandalin Carnes.
Ms. Carnes accepted the position on Tuesday, July 20. Prior to working at Habersham County, Ms. Carnes worked as an Adult Medicaid Caseworker in Macon County, NC where her work involved aiding elderly and disabled clients in receiving Medicaid assistance with medical bills, nursing home & assisted living stays and community nursing care.
Ms. Carnes has spent her entire life in the general area of Western North Carolina and Northeast Georgia. She grew up 40 miles away from Habersham in Otto, NC (Macon County).
She has lived in Rabun County for the past eight years where she and her husband are raising their seven-year-old as well as a herd of fifteen dwarf dairy goats.
Habersham County is excited for Ms. Carnes as she begins her new role.
