About 33.9 percent of the 3,253 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of North Georgia in 2017-18 were to students in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Dahlonega conferred 1072 associate's degrees and 31 bachelor's degrees in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 1072 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 186 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 183 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 19,722 students for 2017-18, including 19,041 in undergraduate programs and 681 in graduate programs.
