81 percent of applicants to the University of North Georgia were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of North Georgia, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Dahlonega enrolled 19,722 students in fall 2018, including 19,041 in undergraduate and 681 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 2 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (73 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (13 percent).

The school admitted 81 percent of the 11,145 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 49 percent enrolled.
