Rep. Will Wade, a Republican member of the Georgia State House representing the 9th District since 2021, addressed his social media followers on September 10, 2025, in response to the reported murder of Charlie Kirk during an event in Utah.
In one post from that day, Wade expressed condolences with a brief message: “” (September 10, 2025).
Later that evening, he posted: “The murder of Charlie Kirk while speaking in Utah is horrific and unacceptable—an attack not only on him, but on the principles of free speech and civil discourse.
Violence is never justified. To stay silent is to accept evil, and I will not. I call on others to stand just as” (September 10, 2025).
A similar statement was made in another tweet at nearly the same time: “The murder of Charlie Kirk while speaking in Utah is horrific and unacceptable—an attack not only on him, but on the principles of free speech and civil discourse.
Violence is never justified. To stay silent is to accept evil, and I will not. I call on others to stand just as” (September 10, 2025).
Wade was elected to his current position in the Georgia State House in 2021 after succeeding Kevin Tanner as representative for District 9.
