Georgia State Representative Will Wade stated that the media overlooked the significant peaceful response to the Trump trial verdict, noting there were “zero riots, zero burned cities, zero murders,” and highlighting that $141 million was raised in May as Americans are now “more motivated.” Wade made his statement in a June 3 post on X.

“I think the media talking heads have ignored a very important response to the verdict in the Trump Trial,” said Wade. “Zero Riots, Zero Burned Down Cities, Zero Murders Over $141M raised in month of May. This is an important distinction.” Rep. Wade: The response to Trump’s trial is ‘motivated’ with ‘over $141M raised in month of May. Yes there are Americans that are mad- but they are actually just more motivated.”

According to President Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC), $141 million was raised in May, driven by public reaction to the Biden trial verdict. Contributions came from over 2 million donors, averaging $70.27 each. This unprecedented month saw 25% of donors new to the 2024 campaign, making it the most successful fundraising period ever. Additionally, Trump-supporting organizations collected another $150 million, bringing the total for May to nearly $300 million.

Jurors convicted former President Trump on all 34 counts of falsifying business records, marking the first felony conviction of a former president. These charges were tied to a hush money payment made by Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to conceal an alleged affair, which Trump denies. According to a report by The Hill, Trump has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Representative Wade served as Chairman of the Dawson County Board of Education for 15 years, leading the county to become one of Georgia’s first system-wide charter school systems. In his first term in the Georgia State House, Wade supported legislation on school choice, law enforcement pay raises, tax cuts, and anti-human trafficking measures. He represents Georgia’s 9th State House District and has focused on education and public safety.
