Georgia State Representative Will Wade stated that people are primarily concerned with issues like “groceries, inflation, immigration, and national security,” rather than topics like “Presidential historians or golf handicaps.” Wade made his statement in a June 27 post on X.
“People are worried about groceries, inflation, immigration and national security,” said Wade. “Nobody cares about Presidential Historians or golf handicaps.”
According to Fox News, during a CNN-hosted presidential debate, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump discussed their physical fitness and suitability to serve at ages 81 and 78. Biden mentioned reducing his golf handicap to six as vice president, later correcting it to eight. A golf handicap measures a player’s ability, with numbers under 10 considered low. Biden’s handicap of six or eight suggests he typically scores in the high 70s or low 80s per round.
CNN reported that in their first debate since 2020, Biden and Trump discussed issues including their fitness to serve, abortion, immigration, foreign policy, inflation, and other unrelated topics. According to CNN, Biden experienced hoarseness and struggled at times to clearly express his points. Trump reiterated his claims of election fraud and did not directly address some questions. Both candidates highlighted their respective records and policies, with Biden defending his administration’s achievements and Trump critiquing them.
Representative Wade served as Chairman of the Dawson County Board of Education for 15 years, leading the county to become one of Georgia’s first system-wide charter school systems. In his first term as a state representative, Wade supported legislation on school choice, law enforcement pay raises, tax cuts, and anti-human trafficking measures. He also advocates for prohibiting gender transition procedures for minors, eliminating critical race theory from the curriculum, and giving parents involvement in their children’s education. He represents Georgia’s 9th State House District and has focused on education and public safety.
