Brenau, Mexican Consulate renew grant agreement
Brenau University has received a grant renewal from the government of Mexico that allows first-generation Mexican-American students to pursue higher education at the university. Brenau hosted Consulate General Francisco Javier Díaz de León and Gabriela Cobos Uribe from the Mexican Consulate for a signing ceremony formalizing the grant Friday, Aug. 5, on the historic Gainesville campus.

The Brenau University Provost’s Office announced on Monday, March 7, Shatrela Washington-Hubbard, Ph.D., will be the Swinton A. Griffith III Dean of the College of Business & Communication, effective immediately. Washington-Hubbard previously had served as interim dean since August 2021.

Brenau University has established the Miller Institute for Global Education to guide its internationalization plans that aim to increase students’ global awareness, an initiative key to the university’s mission and its strategic plan.

BRENAU UNIVERSITY: Brenau’s Medical Scholars Program continues to engage local high school students
Since 2015, Brenau University’s Ivester College of Health Sciences has been providing hands-on learning experiences for students from local high schools through the Medical Scholars Program. There are 11 public and private high schools in Gainesville and Hall County included in the program, along with Dawson County High School.
