Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced a censure resolution against Representative Rashida Tlaib, alleging “antisemitic activity” and sympathy for terrorist organizations. Greene’s motivation behind this resolution is the belief that Tlaib’s actions, statements, and associations are unacceptable and go against the principles of the United States.

In a press release by Greene’s Congressional Office, Greene stated “This type of Israel-hating, America-hating behavior from a sitting Member of Congress is unacceptable and she does not represent anything America stands for. That’s why I’m introducing a censure resolution for Rashida Tlaib”

According to the press release, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has characterized the group Rashida Tlaib allegedly led into the Capitol, Jewish Voice for Peace, as a radical anti-Israel activist organization advocating for a comprehensive boycott of Israel. Greene’s press release alleges that Tlaib has faced criticism for alleged antisemitic remarks in the past, including celebrating the Holocaust and using controversial slogans related to Palestine.

The resolution states that Representative Rashida Tlaib should be censured, required to appear in the House for the censure pronouncement, publicly censured with the reading of the resolution by the Speaker, and that the House of Representatives condemns support for terrorist organizations.

This move by Marjorie Taylor Greene has sparked controversy and drawn attention to the ongoing tensions within Congress. It remains to be seen how this resolution will be received and whether it will gain support from other members of Congress.
