We at Georgia Mountain News have sent a request under the Georgia Open Records Act ยง 50.18.70 et seq., seeking information about the candidates running in the upcoming election. Our request is part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The requested records include a list of all candidates along with their first, middle, and last names. We have also asked for details about the office they are running for and its jurisdiction, as well as their party affiliation.

In addition to this, we’ve requested contact information for each candidate, including their address, phone number, and email address.

We await a response from the Union County Election Department regarding our request.
