Lake Hartwell will be featured on national television as Fishing University films an episode in the area this weekend. The show, hosted by Charlie Ingram and Ben Ballou, is in its 38th season and airs on the Outdoor Channel. It highlights top fishing destinations across the country and shares insights about local communities.

The producers’ decision to film in Hartwell brings attention to both Lake Hartwell’s fishing opportunities and the community itself. Amanda Brown, Director of Discover Hartwell, said, “Having Fishing University here is an incredible opportunity to put Hartwell on the map for anglers across the nation. We know that Lake Hartwell is one of the premier fishing destinations in the Southeast, and this show will help attract even more visitors to our community.”

During their visit, Ingram and Ballou will hold a meet and greet with high school and college anglers at Saturday’s weigh-in event. This gathering is open to the public, giving families a chance to interact with the hosts and learn about filming a national TV show.

The episode filmed on Lake Hartwell will air later this year on the Outdoor Channel. Local leaders hope that national exposure will increase interest in fishing at Lake Hartwell, promote outdoor activities, and encourage tourism in the region.
