Qualifying of the March 21 Clarkesville Special Election closed at noon, with only one person submitting paperwork to run. Rick Wood was the only eligible person who qualified to seek the Post 5 Clarkesville City Council seat. An election cancellation notice will be forthcoming from the Habersham County Elections and Registration Office once the Write-in Qualifying timeframe has ended.
