Eight multiracial students enrolled at Long Branch Elementary School for 2024-25, reflecting a 27.3% decrease from the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Long Branch Elementary School reached 408 students for the 2024-25 year. Multiracial students comprised 2% of the student population, ranking as the third-largest group within the school.

The school operates in the Lumpkin County School District, whose central office is in Dahlonega.

Of the five schools in Lumpkin County School District, Lumpkin County High School reported the largest population of multiracial students in 2024-25, with 32 enrolled.

Georgia’s public schools enrolled more than 1.7 million students, according to the Fiscal Year 2026-1 report from the Georgia Department of Education. The highest enrollment was at the elementary level, with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 middle school students (22.7%), and 539,092 high schoolers (31.4%).

Chronic absenteeism continues to affect Georgia schools after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reported. The statewide initiative by GaDOE provides a real-time attendance dashboard, launches public outreach, and offers additional support for high-need districts to help increase attendance rates.

For 2025, Georgia lawmakers approved revisions to attendance statutes making expulsion for absenteeism alone unlawful. The new rules set out extra reporting duties and support diploma programs using alternative pathways.

Georgia held an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in 2026, which compares favorably to the national average of 15:1.
